So I started getting the div tags and style for the jQuery navigation going, right before media temple (our host) went down. Downtime is inevitable, but it makes you wonder about picking reliable hosts. If you are using any server side language to work, you are pretty much hooped for productivity for the day. Imagine that if you have client deadlines to meet or demoing products to clients and unexpected down time occurs, that would reflect on you. So I looked into some local solutions like mamp (for mac), which seems to be a smart tool to use if not for when your host goes down but for the benefits of working locally (archiving, no internet access etc.)
